Miniature Bee Brooch DIY

Bumble bee — a symbol of principles and values, overcoming difficulties and achieving success. Bumble bees, like no one else, show what it is to overcome any difficulties — in fact, according to all laws of aerodynamics, bumble bees are not able to fly.

Offer to your attention a detailed DIY on making a miniature brooche in the shape of a bumble bee.

You need:

- vlieseline base for embroidery

- felt

- 8 mm matt glass bead

- 3 mm bicone crystal beads

- 12 and 15 beads

- 4 mm and 3 mm sequins

- black fur

- lace

- wire

- transparent monofilament

- beading thread

- pins with a ball on the end

- pin for brooches

- genuine leather for decorating the back side

- instant glue

- scissors, №!2 beading needle, rounde-nose pliers

Bend a piece of wire in half, twist in a spiral and give it a shape of the future wing:

Fix the wire at the base with the wing, cover with lace and, tucking it to the wrong side, sew the edge in the American way:

Сarefully cut off all extra lace from the back side. Lay the wings on the vlieseline base, which was painted in advance with acrylic painting for fabric. The edges of the wire are bended with loops, layed along the body and sewed with small stitches:

Cut out a detail of felt of a slightly smaller size than the outline of the body and sew it on with small stitches. Then cut out 2 more felt details in the shape of drops that sew on the "butt" of the bumble bee:

23 Put fur over the body and sew it to the vlieseline with small stitches along the edge. I used goat fur trimmed by hand beforehand:

Sew 12 beads in an arch-like way between the wings and tighten the sewed arc in a mosaic way using 15 seed beads:

Sew more rows of beads and 4 mm sequins complemented by 15 matt orange beads.

Hide the joint between vlieseline and fur, sew 3 mm black sequins on it , 4 mm beige sequins on the "butt", supplemented with 15 beads.

Sew the head bead. Sew sequins around the bead, laying them vertically and tight to it. Embroider a row between the head and body, alternating 12 matt black beads and sequins:

Carefully cut the excess of vlieseline. String beads and seed beads on pins alternating them. The end of the pin is bended into loops and sewn to vlieseline:

Cut out a Leather detail for the belly, make holes for the pin, insert it and glue the leather to vlieseline. Stitch the edges in a Russian way. Upon completion, give the legs and wings realistic bends:

The finished brooch requires careful treatment: love and pat it, feed with your positive emotions, do not let it feel blue in the box and walk it often :)
