I have already started preparing for the New Year holidays! :) Although the idea to make a horseshoe was born by accident, it turned to be very timely! :).

You need:

- copper wire d = 2; 1; 0.6 and 0.4 mm (can be replaced by knitting wire)

- 4 jewellery rings

- 4 large oval beads

- 3 pins with balls on the end

- even number of yellow, red and green beads of different shapes

- approximately 50 cm of copper chain

- round nose pliers, bent nose pliers, side cutters, needle files, 3 crochet hook, hammer and anvil

Take half a meter of 2 mm wire, grind the ends with the needle file and twist spirals with free space in it.

Bend the wire at the base of the spiral, and again at a couple of cm.

Hammer the spirals slightly on the anvil, just to fix the form. Give the blank the shape of a lyre — that is the outer edge of the horseshoe.

Then take about half a meter of 1 mm wire and apply it to the blank to make the inside edge of the horseshoe. Let the wire be thicker at the bottom.

Bend the wire at the top so that it laid close to the outer edge

Attach the edges to each other with a piece of 6 mm wire of about 50 cm this way: a couple of wire twists catch the outer edge, another couple of twists captures the two wires, then a couple of twists on the inner edge, again a couple of twists on both edges and so on until you reach the end of the edge.

The twists are slightly hammered. Unbend the rest of the wire up, take the end of the 1 mm wire to twist a fancy pattern of it — the main thinh is that the pattern should not (ideally) go beyond the edges of the horseshoe, and remember that the curves will be partially filled with beads.

If you can not wait, use the remaining end of the wire, which connects the outer and the inner edges of the horseshoe, to fix beads.

Repeat the pattern on the other side of the horseshoe.

Now take the hook and the knitting wire (or 0.4 mm wire), leave a long end in reserve, pick 3 loops and knit a net with a treble crochets of about 17-18 cm.

Having fixed the final stitch, leave one more long end and cut off the wire. Use the ends to tape the net inside the horseshoe between the wire patterns. Place the beads in the order suggested by your imagination and taste. Below, see two variants of arrangement of the beads.

Fix the beads with a piece of the thin wire on the net. Fix one oval large bead at the bottom of the horseshoe, in the center of the net.

Fill the pattern form both ends with beads.

Divide a chain into four parts: the first must be equal to the distance between the large spirals at the top of the horseshoe (mine is 6.5 cm). The second – 2 cm, hang in the middle of the first chain, and two more chains of 4 cm, fix them on both sides from the central chain. Put large oval beads on pins, fasten with loops and attach them to the vertical chains. Fix the horizontal chain with hooks to the spirals.

Attach two more rings to the spirals and connect the remaining chain — to hang it wherever you want. For example, on the window.

To create a shabby effect, hang the horseshoe inside a large plastic vessel with a capacity at the bottom, pour ammonia in it and close the lid properly or wrap with plastic to achieve the desired shade of copper. Attention! Use ammonia very carefully, protect your nose and mouth with a damp towel or a respirator.
