Materials:

• scissors
• needles for applique
• thread, 100% cotton preferably
• paper for freezing
• Japanese textured cotton
• textile glue
• microbuttons
• paint for textiles
• fabric for patchwork, USA, bright shades with blur
• needles for quilting
• two-piece clasp, 4*10 cm
• Japanese zipper, 23 cm

Before you start, make an applique on a piece of fabric you're gonna sew out of..

1. Make an application of 11*12 cm, add two sides 5.5*12 cm each

Stitch.

2. Add the back side, 17.5*20 cm, stitch.

3. Make a sandwich, you may use any fabric for the inside, then it will be closeв with a Japanese cloth. Use filler 150.

4. Lay it out like in the photo.

Sew all three layers along the short side, 6 mm seam allowance, cut off the excess.

Turn it outside in.

5. Begin to quilt the pattern along its contour.

Fill the space with circles randomly. When hand quilting, use a quilting needle of 25 mm, insert it vertically, pick 3 stitches on the needle. The stitches and the distance between them go to sameness, for example, to 2 mm.

6. The edges of the three layers should be folded up to approximately 6 mm

7. Place the zipper, its center to the center of the blank — that is shown with pins in the photo.

Place the zipper as in the photo and sew with a needle.

8. Iron the side seams. See that the seams didn't reach 15 mm up to the zipper!

And the part is stitched, matk the layout with a triangle at 45 degree; if a displacement occurs, make an additional stitching, do not panick.

When the zipper is sewed, the 6 mm are folded.

If you turn the blank outside in at this stage, so it will be like this.

9. Make the inside, the exact size is the same as of the blank. The side seams do not reach 15 mm up to the edge as shown below.

I put the holdfasts at the beginning and end of the seam.

Iron the side seams, and also stitch the corner.

10. Sew the zipper from another side with a needle.

Leave 3-4 cm of the zipper free.

11. Turn it inside out and and put on the inside like in the photo.

Sew it, leaving 15 mm free.

12. Turn it outside in and make stitches manually on the front side with allowances of 12, 14 or 15 mm. This depends on your taste and the thickness of the clasp and the size of the item.

Push the clasps inside; you'd better take the rubber end caps off, after you insert the clasps, they can be put on again.

13. When the clasps are open, they look like that. Note! The width of the clasps is slightly narrower than the central part with the applique.

So, the narrower the bottom, the wider would be the lower part of the vanity-case.

14. There where 15 mm ar left, sew all up to fix the clasps. I sewed the inside from the right side. I left the effect of the cut.

15. Note! The smaller the zipper, the smaller the end caps diameter.

*** Mark 2 plain and 2 circles with flower print on a fabric with the help of the end caps.

Tighten the circles with threads.

If an end cap is less than 28 mm (one can not put a bigger one on such a purse!) — in my case it was 25 mm — fold the edges of the zipper at 1.5 mm to the wrong side and pin like in he photo. You'd better start sewing from the center of the zipper with a concealed stitch, then the tip of the zipper will be fixed.
