A Sprig of Jasmine from Cold Porcelain

Today I will tell you how to create an exquisite spring accessory, a Branch of Jasmine from self-hardening polymer clay (cold porcelain).
The tutorial is quite detailed and is suitable even for beginners, and I hope that experienced sellers may find something useful here.

Materials:
• smooth self-hardening polymer clay (for example, Modena Clay, Modern Clay, Fleur, etc.)
• nail scissors with straight and rounded ends
• modeling stick
• round-nose pliers
• modeling stick with balls
• hydrangea leaf mold (or any universal leaf mold)
• optional: mold with a fine texture for a petal (in that case, I used a mold of a Phalaenopsis leaf)
• green wire 24.
• oil paints: grass green, zinc white
• two synthetic brushes 6 (for shading paint)
• green tape
• small stamens with yellow anther
• latex glue and super glue
• stick for glue (I use a toothpick)
• oasis for drying flowers
• optional: brooch or hair clip base

1. Add a small amount of zinc white.
2. Mix thoroughly.
3. It is obligatory to wrap it in plastic for the clay not to dry out.

In this tutorial I use ready thread stamens.
4. Carefully holding the beam of stamens with your fingers, cut off at the joint.
5. Glue 5-7 mm of the wire and attach it to the bundle of stamens. Press with fingers.
6. Allow the glue to dry out and hide the connection under the tape.
7. You should get such result. Prepare 5 pieces for the sprig.

8. Roll out a pean on you palm.
9. Turn the pea into a drop.
10. Slit the drop with scissors from its round end in half leaving 5 mm joined at the end. And cut each half in half again.
11. You should get such blank.

12. Gently mash each petal. This allows to roll out petals with the modeling stick easier.
13. Roll out all four petals with the modeling stick, the movement of the stick is fan-like. Try to roll out the petal evenly.
14. Gently bend the edges of the petals.
15. Optional. You can add texture to the petals by adjusting them to a pattern.
(in that case, I used Phalaenopsis petal mold)

16. Here's the flower.
17. Put the flower on your palm and gently shape the petals with the modeling stick with a large ball.
18. Glue the stamens' base.
19. Dress the flower. Make 4 flowers. Dry them.

20. For the sepal, take a small green pea. Turn it into a drop. Slit the drop from its SHARP side in half and each half in half again.
Roll out each petal with the modeling stick trying to leave the ends sharp.
21. Gently shape the petals with the modeling stick with a ball.
22. Glue the base of the flower.
Note! The flower should be dried out properly.
23. Dress the sepal so that the green petals were between the white ones.

24. Take a piece of clay for a green leaf.
25. Mash it on your palm — just claping it with another palm.
26. Roll the piece of clay from its middle to the edges with the main modeling stick. Up and down.
27. From right to left. You get an even piece.

28. Press against the pattern.
29. Cut out a leaf shape.
30. Gently bend the edges with the modeling stick.
31. Cut notches with scissors with rounded ends.

32. Deep the wire into the glue at 1 cm. Glue it to the bottom of the leaf.
33. Press with fingers. Shape the petal.
And leave to dry out.
34. In the middle of the leaf, apply a bit of green oil paint.
35. Shade with dry brush.

36. Make small flowers for buds without stamens. Roll out the petals in the usual way.
37. Cover the bud fully. You can add a drop of glue on the petals. So that it colud close.
38. Add the sepal.
39. Here's the bud you should get.

40. Assembling. Note! All flowers and leaves must be completely dry. Start with the twig of buds. Attach the tape to the top bud. Having made a couple of twists, join two more buds.
41. Attach anoher flower in 1 cm. Then another.
42. Then two other leaves.
43. And two more flower.

44. Take the base for brooches. Glue its back side.
45. Roll out a pea of clay, mash and insert it into the hole.
46. Apply glue to the base of the sprig.
47. Gently press it against the base. Leave it to dry out.

I wish you success!
